Our terrace bar serves, at sunset, our vintage cocktails exactly as I discovered them in their recipes and countries of origin: the Margarita from San Angelin in Mexico City, the Caipirinha from Dom in São Paulo, the Mojito from Varadero, my Negroni, the Bicicletta reimagined by Ceci, the Old Fashioned with Kentucky bourbon… and, of course, the island’s wines and proseccos from the Mazzella winery.
For a select few, our chef prepares a different menu every day using the fresh ingredients of this land. Dinner is served on our terrace, immersed in the sunset and the sea, by candlelight in the most romantic intimacy of Casa Al Sole, sheltered from the chatter of Sant’Angelo’s little square.
We offer exclusively local catch, sourced from our seas and selected every morning. We favor so-called “poor” blue fish, rich in Omega 3, cooked according to traditional recipes, flavorful, yet light and easy to digest.
Meat, mainly white meat, also comes from the island. The most common dish is rabbit, raised in the Mediterranean scrub, with tasty meat prepared according to tradition with the unmissable bucatini.
Vegetables are the triumph of our table and the stars of our menus, from beautiful salads of wild rocket and cherry tomatoes, to delicious eggplant parmigiana, to sautéed zucchini with fresh tomatoes and basil, or escarole with raisins and pine nuts. Every morning we select them with care and cook them fresh for you.
Fruit is filled with the island’s sunshine, coloring it like a Botero still life. During the summer months, we serve at both breakfast and after dinner all varieties of peaches, apricots, watermelon, melon, pears, and plums, preferably natural, whole, or in a delicious fruit salad.
Desserts are prepared following the recipes of Signora Lucia del Pescatore, famous worldwide for her pies, caprese cakes, the irresistible Cava Grado, and many other wonderful delicacies.
The wines are entirely from Ischia, from the Mazzella vineyard, legendary for reviving ancient grape varieties that had disappeared from the island. From the prestigious Bianco Vigna del Lume, winner of Best White of the Year 2018, to Forastera and Biancolella DOC, to the light bubbles of Villa Campagnano. Red wines begin with Piedirosso, to be enjoyed chilled, then Terrazze di Levante for a more intense flavor, and Nero 70 for something sensual and important.
Note: For dinner, please check with the concierge for available dates and to make a reservation. For external guests, a credit card is required as a guarantee, and the dinner will be charged in the event of a no-show.
