My corner of paradise

A few years ago, I fulfilled one of my dreams: having a small hotel, where guests don’t feel like they’re in a hotel, but in a beautiful home, in my home.

To make it happen, I searched for the right place and found it when I discovered Sant’Angelo, on the island of Ischia: a corner of paradise suspended between sea and sky, almost hidden and unknown to many.

There, walking up the little road that leads to the Maronti, I had often stopped in front of a house where I could only see the beautiful terrace overlooking Sant’Angelo and embracing the whole gulf.

Right here, in Sant’Angelo, I managed to make my dream come true and give new life to what, in the 1950s, was called Garni del Sole.

I worked for months on every single detail: from the tiles painted in different colors and patterns in each room, to the percale sheets with hemstitch finish, the apone towels, the cutlery from antique markets, the dishes inspired by ancient ceramics.

Life here has a special rhythm.
In the morning, breakfast is enjoyed while reading the paper on your own terrace. Then it’s off for a day of sea and sun, and at sunset everyone meets again at the open-air bar on the terrace, with vintage drinks discovered during my travels around the world and my playlists.
In the evening, dinner is served by the sea with home-style cooking, our own chef, and only fresh ingredients of the day.

Our guests have become friends, returning for their holidays and to celebrate their special moments.
